Visit to Jyväskylä

In early November 2006, we visited mummo, pappa and Heidi at their house in Jyväskylä. There was lots of snow so I decided to help with ploughing. Behind mummy is our old green Citroen.

Autumn is the best time to find mushrooms. These ones were found in our garden in Helsinki and are not dangerous (but not so tasty!).

Surrounded (again!)

Here I am surrounded by Finnish women again - only, this time they're a bit younger! These are my second cousins, together we're playing the electric keyboard. There were some minor disagreements on who could push the buttons, I wanted to push them all the time and turn up the volume to the max. Maybe we should form a band together? I'd be the lead singer, of course! We could be just like Lordi.....

My great grandmother's 80th birthday

On 9th September we celebrated my great grandmother's 80th birthday with a big family reunion. The party was held at my great grandmother's farm in Central Finland. Family members came from all over Finland, it was first time the family had been together in many years. My great grandmother really enjoyed the day and it was great to finally met some of my relatives.

Pushing the cart

This was another way of transporting stuff around Maisaari island - by cart. The cart was quite heavy but I managed to get it moving. But then it kept moving, especially down the big hill.....people had to chase after me!

Fish

Tero went fishing on Maisaari island and caught 4 fish. I was fascinated by the fish and how he cleaned them, I really wanted to help. They were eaten that night on the BBQ!

Me and my women

Now this is the way I like it - surrounded by 3 lovely Finnish ladies! My companions, Ida (on left), Heidi (centre) and Maari (on right), took care of me during the seminar on Maisaari island. Today I'm supervising lunch preparation for all the hungry participants. The kitchen was my favourite place to hang-out, I was always the centre of attention and I got to eat lots of yummy things!
